Game devs: Do you spend too much time on auth servers?
I've personally found it to be frustrating to be wasting a large amount of time building out an authoritative game server for multiplayer games when I could be working on actual gameplay.
I'm new to game dev as someone working on an indie side project, so I am curious if this is a widespread problem in the industry or not much of an issue. What type of game dev are you and do you also consider this a major problem or time waste?
